Existing functionality | Yes | Yes |
Critical hotfixes & security patches | Yes | Yes |

Why we're making this change
We upgraded the ManageXR Home Screen to Unity 6 to deliver new XR features and modern platform capabilities. The legacy PICO SDK required for PUI 4 is not compatible with Unity 6, and PICO will not be updating it.
How to upgrade your PICO Neo 3 devices to PUI 5
PICO Neo 3 devices can be upgraded from PUI 4 to PUI 5 directly through ManageXR. Devices on PUI 5 will continue receiving the latest ManageXR Home Screen and Admin App updates.
To upgrade, set a firmware update policy in your ManageXR configuration:
PICO G2, G2 4K, and Neo 2 cannot upgrade to PUI 5. These devices are hardware-limited to PUI 4 and will remain on LTS support after June 1, 2026.
