Pairing PICO Controllers

Instructions for pairing controllers with PICO devices

Written by Ciru

If a PICO headset's controllers disconnect, you can re-pair them directly from the ManageXR Home Screen toolbar settings.

Add Controller Settings to the Home Screen Toolbar

Before users can pair controllers in the headset, you must enable the Controller Settings shortcut in your configuration's Home Screen toolbar.

  1. In the ManageXR web console, go to Configurations and select the configuration your PICO devices are on.

  2. Select Device Experience.

  3. Click ManageXR Home Screen.

  4. Select Menu Settings.

  5. Toggle on Controller Settings.

  6. Click Save Changes.

Controller Settings are supported on the following devices: PICO G2 4K, Neo 2, Neo 3, 4 Enterprise, and 4 Ultra Enterprise

Now, the controller settings icon will appear on the Home Screen toolbar the next time your devices sync with the configuration. Learn more about Home Screen toolbar settings

How to Pair PICO Controllers

  1. Put on the headset and go to the ManageXR Home Screen.

  2. On the Home Screen toolbar, select the controller settings icon.

    1. If you don't see it in the main toolbar, select the three dots (…) to show more options.

  3. With the controller settings open, pick up both controllers.

  4. On each controller, press and hold the PICO button and the trigger together for more than 4 seconds to enter pairing mode.

  5. Wait for each controller to connect. Once paired, it appears as connected in the controller settings.

Don't see the controller settings icon? Make sure Controller Settings is turned on in your configuration, as described in the section above.

You don't need working controllers to complete these instructions. Headset users can navigate the Home Screen with eye gaze control or hand tracking until the controllers are paired.
