Removing Files

When you deploy a file to a device, the device will begin to track the file as a "managed" file. If, at any point, the device detects that its configuration is no longer deploying the file, it will delete the file.

There are two ways to remove files from your device's file system:

Method 1 - Delete Files from Configuration

This method involves deleting files from the configuration that's assigned to the device.

  1. Navigate to Configurations and select a configuration.

  2. Select Files tab.

  3. Delete the files from the configuration.

Method 2 - Assign Device to a Different Configuration

This method involves applying a different configuration that excludes the files you want to remove from a device.

Single Device

  1. Choose a device from the Devices list.

  2. Click the Configuration drop-down menu on the device detail page.

  3. Choose a different configuration from the drop-down menu.

  4. Click the Save Changes button.

Multiple Devices

  1. Select the checkbox of more than one device from the Devices list.

    1. Selected devices must share the same configuration.

  2. Click the Configuration drop-down menu on the device detail page.

  3. Choose a different configuration from the drop-down menu.

  4. Click the Yes button to assign the new configuration to the selected devices.
