At ManageXR, we prioritize delivering a smooth and reliable in-headset experience. A key component of this is how we manage VR content installation and updates. By default, online devices will update content and firmware anytime they are not actively in use, as explained in our documentation about application update behavior.
With content scheduling, you can control the time window for downloading and installing updates. This is particularly useful for environments where you might prefer content installation and updates to occur during off-hours. Content schedules can also be beneficial when you’d like to optimize your network’s performance by staggering update schedules for groups of devices.
Content schedules apply to the following types of content:
This includes your managed apps, as well as ManageXR apps (ManageXR Admin App, ManageXR Home Screen)
Pico firmware updates

What happens if I remove content from a configuration?
When you remove an application or other content from the device, it gets removed immediately regardless of the content update schedule. The update schedule only applies to content getting freshly installed or updated, not to content getting removed.
