The PIN-protected Admin Settings menu in ManageXR's Home Screen is a secure gateway for administrators to manage and troubleshoot VR devices directly within the headset. It ensures that while end-users have a streamlined and controlled experience, administrators retain the flexibility to perform essential tasks without needing external tools.

Accessing Admin Settings

To access the Admin Settings within the headset:

  1. On the Home Screen toolbar, select the Admin Settings button (typically the rightmost icon; you may have to press "..." to find it).

  2. Enter your Admin PIN when prompted.

Default PIN: 5112

Note: It's recommended to change the default PIN to maintain security.

Editing the Admin PIN

To change the Admin PIN:

  1. Navigate to the ManageXR Console.

  2. Go to Configurations and select the desired configuration.

  3. Click on Device Experience

  4. Under Menu Settings, scroll down to locate the Admin PIN field

  5. Enter the new PIN (4-8 digits) and save your changes.

This updated PIN will apply to all devices using this configuration.

Hiding Admin Settings

While we recommend keeping Admin Settings available for troubleshooting, some deployments need tighter control. To prevent end-users from accessing the Admin Settings:

  1. In the ManageXR Console, go to Configurations and select the desired configuration.

  2. Click on Device Experience

  3. Under Menu Settings, toggle off the Admin Settings option

This will remove the Admin Settings button from the Home Screen toolbar for that configuration.

Actions Available in Admin Settings

Once inside the Admin Settings menu, administrators have access to several actions:

  • Any hidden toolbar settings: When Admin Settings is unlocked, all toolbar settings that have been hidden on your configuration (e.g., boundary, casting, wi-fi, brightness, bluetooth, passthrough) will be visible.

  • Sync: Manually sync the device with the ManageXR server to fetch the latest configuration and updates

  • Exit Launcher: Temporarily exit the ManageXR Home Screen and return to the device's default menus. To re-launch the Home Screen, launch ManageXR Home from the "For Work" app section or reboot your headset, and the device will revert to your previous settings. Note: This option is not available on Pico devices and only available on some Meta devices.

  • Kiosk Mode Toggle: Enable or disable Kiosk Mode. Disabling allows access to the device's native interface. Note: Not available on Meta devices enrolled via MHMS

  • Lock Admin Settings: Secure the Admin Settings menu behind the Admin PIN. By default, this is enabled.

Additionally, the Admin Settings display device-specific information such as:

  • Device Name

  • Serial Number

  • Assigned Configuration
