You may need to temporarily exit the ManageXR environment to access device apps and settings in the default device menus. Depending on your scenario, there are a few ways to do this:

ManageXR Web Console

  1. Navigate to the device list.

  2. Select the device(s).

  3. Send the Disable Kiosk device command to the selected device(s).

    1. Bulk - To disable kiosk mode for several devices simultaneously, send the command from the device list.

    2. Individual - To disable kiosk mode for one device, send the command from the device detail page.

Disabling/Enabling Kiosk Mode will trigger a reboot for PICO devices* on PUI 5+.

Disabling/Enabling Kiosk Mode will not trigger a reboot for PICO 4 Ultra Enterprise devices on PUI 5.11+.

Enable Kiosk Mode

  1. Navigate to the device list.

  2. Select the device(s).

  3. Send the Enable Kiosk device command to the selected device(s).

    1. Bulk - To enable kiosk mode for several devices simultaneously, send the command from the device list.

    2. Individual - To enable kiosk mode for one device, send the command from the device detail page.

Once devices are in the native device menus, you can send the Enable Kiosk command to return devices to the ManageXR environment.

Admin Settings

Two options exist for using the admin settings to exit the ManageXR environment. Option 1 is to toggle off Kiosk Mode from the admin settings. Option 2 is to select Exit Launcher from the admin setting; this option is not available for Pico devices.

To exit the ManageXR environment from admin settings, you must have the following device experiences selected for your configuration:

  • ManageXR Home Screen

  • Kiosk App or Kiosk Video with Shortcut Menu toggled on

Kiosk Mode

Toggling off Kiosk Mode will exit Kiosk App mode until you manually re-enable it. Here are the steps to do it:

  1. Put on your VR headset.

  2. Click the Admin Settings button in the bottom right

  3. Enter your Admin PIN.

  4. Toggle OFF Kiosk Mode

  5. Click the home button on your headset's controller.

  6. Select Quit to return to the default device home screen.

Exit Launcher (not available on Pico devices)

Exit Launcher will temporarily exit the selected Home Screen and return you to the default device home screen:

  1. Put on your VR headset and go to the Home Screen

  2. Click the Admin Settings button in the bottom right

  3. Enter your Admin PIN.

  4. Select Exit Launcher.

Follow these instructions to relaunch ManageXR from the Meta Quest menus.

Device Setup Tool

If you don't have internet access and are not using the Home Screen, you can disable Kiosk Mode by plugging your device into a computer and using our Device Setup Up.

  1. Launch the Device Setup Tool on your computer and plug in your VR device.

  2. Click the three-dot button next to the device.

  3. Select Disable Kiosk Mode from the drop-down menu.

Meta Failsafe Method

  1. Click the Meta button on your controller 12 times with a 1-second pause between each click. The screen will flicker briefly each time.

  2. After the 12th click, the typical Meta Universal Menu will pop up, and you can access the standard Meta settings and menus.
