Many organizations are moving from Quest for Business to ManageXR. You may choose to keep your device on Quest for Business when registering it to ManageXR however, many companies are using this time as an opportunity to also migrate their Quest for Business devices to the standard consumer operating system in order to take advantage of the latest Meta firmware (Quest for Business devices are stuck on firmware version v29, whereas consumer devices are now on v56+).
To migrate a Quest for Business device to a standard consumer headset, log in to your Meta Workplace dashboard:
Go to the “Admin Panel” in Meta Workplace
Click “Contact Support” at the bottom of the list in the Admin Panel
Next, click “Ask a question” in the top right corner
Select the “Quest for Business” Option and fill out a ticket with the serial numbers that need to be whitelisted (this can be done in bulk by uploading a spreadsheet).
Receive a response from the Meta Support team with a disclaimer that requires an "I approve" response; also states that this action cannot be reversed.
Respond to this email with an “I approve this action and acknowledge that this cannot be reversed.” message.
Receive an email from Meta Support team that the unit(s) are available for conversion.
After following these steps, your device will boot up, and you'll be able to set it up as a normal consumer Quest device. During that process, the device will update to the latest consumer firmware version.
