Many organizations are switching off of Oculus for Business (OfB) to ManageXR. You may choose to keep your device on Oculus for Business when registering it to ManageXR, however many companies are using this time as an opportunity to also migrate their OfB devices to the standard consumer operating system in order to take advantage of the latest Oculus firmware (OfB devices are stuck on firmware version v29, whereas consumer devices are now on v49+).
To migrate an OfB device to a standard consumer headset:
Send the serial number(s) of your device(s) to the OfB team at this link: https://oculusforbusiness.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
The OfB team will send you an email to confirm the transition. Reply to that email approving the transition.
You will then receive an email from the OfB team that the unit(s) are available for conversion.
Factory Reset each OfB headset (do not do this before the confirmation email in step 3 or it will not work)
Turn off the headset.
Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset. (We recommend starting with volume button to avoid accidentally turning the headset back on vs Factory Reset screen)
Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset option and press the power button to confirm.
Use the volume button on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button to confirm
Allow the headset to complete factory reset.
After following these steps your device will boot up and you'll be able to set it up as a normal consumer Quest 2. During that process, the device will update to the latest consumer firmware version.
Now you're ready to Register Your Device on ManageXR!
