Legacy

Announcement: Meta will no longer fix new bugs for Legacy Devices

Meta has ended bug maintenance for Legacy devices. This means they are unable to provide fixes or further support for issues arising from legacy devices. If you're experiencing deployment stopping issues because of this, migrating the affected devices to HMS is the best path forward. v2.5 - Controller pairing issue - The headset can get stuck reporting a controller as paired when it is not actually connected or working. This shows up two ways: one controller appears paired in settings but is not visible or functional, or a new set of controllers cannot pair at all because the headset still lists the original controllers as paired after they've been removed.

MAN-54β€”Apps using Meta's Spatial SDK or MR Utility Kit (MRUK), e.g., spatial mapping, QR tracking, etc., not working on managed devices. App works on standalone or sideloaded devices but fails under MDM management. Spatial mapping not triggering beyond initial app installation. Spatial data consent dialog does not appear or is dismissed before the user can accept it. ACCESS_MR_SENSORS reverts to "ignore" on every app launch. Affects apps using com.oculus.permission.USE_SCENE. Learn more about this issue.

FAQ

How do I distribute my app as a Private App?

  1. The developer publishes the app as a private app on the Meta Horizon Store. See Meta's guide: Deploying Private Apps

  2. The admin adds the private app to their Managed Apps library in the HMS Admin Center.

  3. The admin exports the app configuration and deploys it to ManageXR-managed devices via OEMConfig.
