Moving a device to a new organization does not transfer its current configuration (apps, files, WiFi networks, etc.). When you move the device, you may want to create a similar configuration in the destination organization.
You can share apps between organizations using release channels. If the configuration you're moving the device to is targeting the same app release channels, it will not have to re-download those applications.
Active Organizations
To move your device from an organization with an active ManageXR subscription to another active organization:
Navigate to your device's page
Select the device(s) you want to move
Click Command and select Change Organization from the drop-down menu
Click the organization you'd like to move the device to
Choose the configuration you'd like to apply to the device
Once moved, the device will sync to the new configuration the next time it is online and appear in the device list of the new organization. A notification will appear and let you know the transfer was successful and allow you to view the device in its new location.
You cannot move devices while they are actively streaming using our Device Screen Streaming feature.
Bulk Device Movement Processing
When moving devices in bulk (typically 50–100+ devices), the command to move all selected devices is initiated simultaneously. However, device transfers are processed sequentially in the background—one device at a time.
This means:
The total operation may take a few minutes, depending on the number of devices.
While the system processes each move command, you will see a loading screen indicating that the transfer is in progress.
Do not refresh or navigate away—device migrations will continue processing while the loading screen is visible.
Once all devices have been moved, the system will automatically reflect the updated state.
In some cases, if you're moving a very large number of devices, your browser may time out and display an error before the system finishes processing every device. If that happens, simply refresh the Devices page
to continue monitoring the status of the operation—devices will still be moving in the background. The ManageXR web console may appear static during this time, but rest assured that device movement is actively occurring behind the scenes.
